Coupled with the recent announcement of a Mortal Kombat DLC season pass, which will give players access to a total of four new fighters as they are released (Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain, and one mystery fighter), it seems likely that new Klassic skins will be made available alongside some, if not all, of the new Kombatant DLC releases. Up until this point, the Klassic skins seemed to be reserved for the various human ninjas in the title - Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Ermac, Mileena, Jade, and Kitana - first as individual pre-order DLC bonuses and then as part of the " Klassic Skins Pack" available for $4.99 on PSN and 400 MSP on the XBox Live Marketplace. Mortal Kombat players have been looking forward to Skarlet's DLC debut for several weeks but the cyborg ninja Klassic skin announcement came out of nowhere - and hints at the possibility that more retro skins will be en route in the coming months. Ditching 3D environments, and subsequently sidestepping, Mortal Kombat thrived on 90s nostalgia - delivering plenty of MK fan service as well as competent and fast-paced fighting action.īut, despite an enormous roster of twenty-seven kombatants, NetherRealm Studios is preparing to unveil plenty of DLC for the title - starting with the highly-anticipated Kitanta glitch-turned-new fighter, Skarlet, as well as "Klassic" skins for cyborg assassins Cyrax and Sektor, available on June 21st.
